We are well aware of the the cheap CDRs out in the marketplace. We've seen them for as low as 14 cent each!
They are cheap for a reason, the reflective surfaces and dye coverings are usually not as thick, or as pure, as brand name CDRs nor do they exercise the same quality control.
The discs may even burn fine but you run the risk of your data not being there when you want it! We have tried a number of different brands of this type of product and found various problems.
