 Litter and Parking

As anyone who visits Cobh by car is aware of, there is a parking problem in Cobh. Not that there isn't enough parking spaces, in fact there are plenty, between the town centre, Deep Water Quay car park, the Cathedral car park, and the many streets around Cobh. No, the problem is the amount of parking tickets being issued, especially to visitors coming to Cobh for the day or on holidays. Fair enough you may say, but for a town that is struggling to encourage tourists to visit and re-visit, it seems a shame to send them away with parking tickets as souvenirs. On the other hand the town looks like it was hit with a litter bomb and nothing seems to be happening to counteract this problem.

A group of Cobh business people have set up a petition as part of an attempt to rectify these problems. You can read the petition at this link. If you feel this will help, then please sign.
